A Christian Perspective On Wellness

The Importance of Spiritual Wellness
Humans consist of a body, mind and soul.  When one area of your life is out of balance the other areas are effected.  Many people place a heavy emphasis on their physical or emotional health but neglect the soul.  We were created as spirtual (as well as physical and emotional) beings.

The Foundation for Spiritual Wellness:

The Holy Bible tells us man is spiritually unwell:
Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (NIV)

     Sin has a terrible price:
Romans 6:23:  "For the wages of sin is death.." (NIV)

God has provided a way to pay for our sin:
Romans 5:8:  "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (NIV)

The good news is that we don't need to earn our peace with God:
Romans 4:5:  "To the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness." (NIV)
Ephesians 2:8-9:  "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -not by works, so that no one can boast."  (NIV)

By accepting by faith the death of Jesus Christ as the payment for your sin, you can have a relationship with the Almighty God:
John 3:16:  "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV)
Acts 16:31:  "Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved..." (NIV)

A New Beginning
You can have a direct line of communication with God and become his child.  Begin with this prayer,
"Lord Jesus I know that I am a sinner and have been separated from God by my sin.  I know there is nothing I can do to save myself.  I now believe that you died on the cross for my sin and that you rose from the dead showing the world that God accepted your sacrifice as full and final payment.  I hereby accept you as my Lord and Savior and invite you into my heart and life.  Thank you for loving me and giving your life for me.  I now belong to you.  Amen."

Spritual "Food & Exercise"

To build your spiritual health spend time daily studying God's Word, the Holy Bible.  Pray to God, talking with Him regularly.  Find a local church where the whole Bible is taught as the Word of God.  Discover the spiritual gift(s) God has given you and share those with others.
